SENATORE 2017 - Primitivo DOC Gioia del Colle

It is dedicated to Senator Antonio Michele Coppi, far-sighted founder of the Coppi Vinicola House as well as oenologist, who deeply loves and knows the Murgia Bari area of ​​the trulli of which this vine is one of the noblest expressions.

Production area: Marchione district, on the Turi-Castellana Grotte road, Puglia.

Type of soil: calcareous and clayey on hilly reliefs

Training system: sapling

Yield per plant: approximately 1 to 4 kg

Year of planting: 1990

Harvest: hand-harvested from company-produced grapes in the first ten days of September

Vinification: in the cellar the grapes are still carefully selected, then pressed, destemmed and sent to the winemakers. The alcoholic fermentation on the skins allows the extraction of all the valuable substances contained in them: from fruitiness to polyphenols, up to tannins. Each step takes place at a controlled temperature. Once the pomace has been separated, the wine goes into steel tanks.

Aging: without haste in 50 hl second passage Slavonian oak barrels, for a duration of approximately 12 months

Annual production: approximately 30,000 bottles
