Chestnut Honey

Chestnut honey is dark in color with reddish reflections and is harvested in the summer months in the Lucanian mountains. Characterized by a persistent aroma and an intense scent, it is excellent on mature goat cheeses and cream ice creams.

Color: dark, dark red.

Odour: intense, aromatic, pungent.

Flavour: strong, persistent, penetrating.

Aroma: intense, very persistent, tannic.

Crystallizes: very slowly when pure.

Pairings: its intense smell and flavor make it suitable for medium-aged cheeses, a less mature cheese would not stand up to the strong flavor of this honey. Excellent on mature goat cheeses.

Other pairings: lacquered meats and cream ice creams.
